Responsible for Key Account Management and client engagement for HealthTrust and its membership

Doug comes to ASPI with over 30 years’ experience in healthcare and medical devices.  He began his career as an orthopedic implant sales associate for DePuy and Johnson and Johnson, providing sales and service for total hip and knee replacement and associated orthopedic products.  He moved into a corporate accounts role focused on regional and national group purchasing organizations (GPOs), including HCA, HealthTrust and Premier. He was ultimately responsible for Corporate Accounts for all of DePuy Orthopedics, with responsibility for a team of corporate account directors and contract administration, managing over $1B in contract sales.  During his tenure at DePuy, Doug led contracts and pricing strategy and strategic customer relationship management for all GPO, IDN and Government accounts for the US. In addition, he created and implemented pricing strategy and contracting processes for the orthopedic business.  

As Assistant Vice President of Clinical Operations at HealthTrust, Doug managed the custom and national contracting teams for medical devices for sourcing,  clinical operations and new technology, as well as meeting with key physicians in orthopedics, spine and cardiology. Doug’s leadership at HealthTrust continued in the role of Assistant VP, Business Development, where he provided management and consulting to member hospitals and health systems in the areas of orthopedics, spine and cardiovascular physician preference products. He also served as the liaison between the HealthTrust custom contracting team and HealthTrust members.
